Calm Plates
3-Week Parent Programme
Calmer mealtimes,
confident kids and reassured parents
If mealtimes have turned into meltdowns, you’re not alone. Maybe your child only eats a few “safe” foods or panics when something looks different. You’ve tried sticker charts and “just one bite,” but nothing seems to help.
You’re not failing, and your child isn’t being difficult.
You both just need a calmer, evidence-based way forward.
What Is Calm Plates?
Calm Plates is a 3-week online group programme that helps parents of fussy or sensory eaters move from daily mealtime battles to calmer, more confident routines.
Created and led by Dr Kirsty Porter, award-winning paediatric dietitian (and a former fussy eater herself), it blends the latest feeding research with practical, realistic tools that fit busy family life. You’ll learn why your child eats the way they do, how to take the pressure off, and what to do next — step by step, after bedtime.

- Your child eats only a few “safe” foods or refuses to try new ones

FAQS
No, Calm Plates is just for parents — and that’s actually what makes it work so well. You’ll have the space to learn, reflect, and plan without the pressure of managing mealtimes in the moment. Most parents tell me it feels like a weight off their shoulders to understand why their child eats the way they do before making changes at home.
Yes, absolutely. Many families who join have children who are neurodivergent. Calm Plates is designed with sensory needs in mind — everything I teach can be adapted to your child’s unique way of experiencing food. You’ll never be told to use a one-size-fits-all approach.
That’s totally fine. All sessions are recorded, and you’ll still get access to the parent group chat and all resources so you can follow along in your own time. You won’t miss out on anything important.
Not at all. Whether this is your first step or you’ve tried other strategies before, Calm Plates will help you understand what’s really driving your child’s eating behaviours — and give you realistic tools that fit your family life.
No special equipment or foods are required. I may suggest some simple, low-cost items to make food play or mealtime activities more fun — but these are always optional and easy to do with things you already have at home.
That’s such a common worry, and I completely understand it. Every child is different — but the strategies in Calm Plates are based on years of experience helping families just like yours. You’ll learn how to tune into your child’s cues and make small, calm changes that really do make a difference over time.
