Fussy Eating Support

Helping Your Child Feel More Relaxed Around Food

Gentle, practical help to make mealtimes calmer and help your child feel more confident with food. If your child eats only a few foods, avoids anything new, or if mealtimes often end in stress, you’re not alone. Many parents go through this and it’s not your fault.

I’m Dr Kirsty Porter, a children’s dietitian with over 16 years of experience helping families across the UK and Ireland to make eating easier, happier, and more relaxed with advice that actually fits into real family life.

Why Fussy Eating Happens

Fussy eating is very common, especially between ages two and seven. Sometimes it’s just a normal part of growing up, but other times it can feel more challenging. There are a few reasons your child might struggle with food, like:

Often, what looks like “being difficult” is really a sign that your child feels unsafe or unsure around food. The good news is that with gentle support, eating can start to feel easier and more positive again.

Work with Dr. Kirsty

I use a calm, no-pressure approach that helps children feel safe and curious around food. No stress, no forcing bites, no “clean plate” rules. We’ll work together to reduce mealtime stress, introduce new foods at your child’s pace, and create simple routines that help everyone feel more relaxed.
